Lisa first trained as a dancer, and performed professionally as such in stage shows for some time. She then retrained as an actress at the Bristol Old Vic with considerable distinction, and has appeared in a wide range of roles on the stage and in television. She was a member of the cast of ITV1's ''Heartbeat'' (October 2006 - September 2010), playing Nurse Carol Cassidy. Her childhood village of Levisham is close to Goathland where the show was filmed.
